San Francisco Streets

The famous Lombard Street in San Francisco.  One steep block of eight tight hairpin turns.

I hopped off the Cable Car at Lombard and walked all the way down to Coit Tower. It was a long walk up and down the steep hills of San Francisco.

The stairs to Coit Tower. The tower was built in 1933 at the request of Lillie Hitchcock Coit to help beautify the city.

A view of the Golden Gate Bridge from Coit Tower.

I took a little break after the long walk from Lombard Street.

I decided to meander my way back through North Beach to the Cable Car stop. It was an amazing neighborhood and it was so quiet on the Streets of San Francisco that Thursday morning.

The Handlery Hotel in Union Square San Francisco. This hotel was built in the 1920's and is a 4th generation run hotel. I loved the unique interior of this hotel.

Every Virtual Coffee Table Book needs an elevator selfie.

We started the vacation off right with a yummy breakfast at the hotel's restaurant The Daily Grill.

We need cellphones where we can take selfie's with a flash.

Our first night's dinner was at L'Ottavo Ristorante on Sutter Street. Thumbs Up!!!
Umm.... No we didn't stop here.

Just up the street from our hotel was Sam's Cable Car Lounge. Great atmosphere with big screen TV's. With my wine I got complimentary cheese and salami. With a beer you got popcorn and peanuts. What a great surprise.

Also up the street from the hotel and across from Sam's Cable Car Lounge was Bar Norcini. A nice stop for a glass of wine and some yummy cheesecake.

You can't stop in San Francisco without getting some great New York style pizza from Uncle Vito's Pizza in Chinatown.

Now this is my kind of restaurant. 3 complimentary salsa's with chips.

Our stop along Highway 116 along the Russian River in Northern California while driving through wine country. The food was tasty and full of flavor.

Taquiera La Tapatia in Guerneville, CA. A great family run Mexican restuarant.

Chinatown, San Francisco, California

The largest Chinatown outside of Asia and also one of the oldest.

Of course no trip is complete without a little fast food. Our stop for breakfast in the wee hours of the morning as we head out to Yosemite. Burger King, San Leandro, California.

Sadly we never made it to this Mickey D's.
I was impressed with the gas pumps in Cali. Did you know that California emissions standards are stricter than the federal EPA requirements. It's no wonder the air was so refreshing.
